    President

    Ian Smith is the founding principal of IS-DG, an award-winning architecture firm in Philadelphia and a certified DBE in Pennsylvania. As a graduate of RISD and Yale, Ian brings a deep perspective to design, architecture, and urbanism. His work spans healthcare, commercial, residential, and institutional projects. Ian believes that understanding emotional narratives strengthens design outcomes, especially in memorial, legacy, and residential work. He contributes to civic discourse through teaching and board service, including AIA Philadelphia, Carpenter's Hall, Inglis House, and the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia.

    Kevin Jasey, NCARB, NOMA has years of experience in the profession, I have had the opportunity to work at some of the top local and global Architecture firms. While a majority of my past experience has focused on K-12 projects, I have recently managed projects in the Commercial, Non-Profit, Hi-ED, Healthcare, Senior Living, and Retail market sectors. I have led project teams that have constructed projects in DE, FL, KS, MD, MO, NJ, NV, PA, OH, TN, VA, and WA. My collaborative skills, team building qualities, and practical experience make me a proficient member of any project team. Originally hailing from East Orange, NJ, I studied in the Architecture Program at Hampton University in Hampton, VA. Shortly after graduating with my Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2001, I relocated to Philadelphia.

    Maurice Allen is a native son of Philadelphia with an appreciation for architecture since 3rd grade. His experience traverses the data infrastructure and data analytics industries. Having visited it for the first time in 2024, he can confidently say New Orleans is his favorite city. He appreciates delicious food, memorable engaging experiences, and all things black nerdom (blerdom).

    Francesca Carney received her B.F.A. in Architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and her Master of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture. She has 10 years of experience in cultural, educational, healthcare and interior design from leading firms in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and New York. She is a registered architect in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She co-founded her company, swrl studio architects, with David Harrop in 2024.

    Dominique Hayes is an NCIDQ-certified Associate Interior Designer at Stantec with nearly eight years of experience in healthcare design. A Southern University alum and former marketing professional, she earned her Master’s in Interior Architecture from Jefferson University. Dominique recently led design efforts for Jefferson Health’s Honickman Center. Passionate about healing environments, she contributes to all project phases. She serves as Treasurer of PhilaNOMA, is active in IIDA, and is a proud Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. member. Dominique is dedicated to mentoring minority students and inspiring future designers through speaking and panel engagements.

    Larissa McFall is an Associate on the LEED Technical Development Team at the U.S. Green Building Council, helping shape LEED v5 to promote resilience and equity. A former LEED for Cities Equity Fellow, she supported local governments in integrating equity into sustainability planning. Larissa holds a Bachelor of Architecture with a Construction Management minor from Drexel, where her capstone, Black Space Reimagined, was featured at Greenbuild 2023. In 2024, she served on the Greenbuild Host Committee. Her work explores the intersection of culture, policy, and the built environment to advance environmental justice.

    Tazianna Footman is a student in Drexel University’s 2+4 Architecture Program and works at the Community Design Collaborative, where she explores the intersection of design and community impact. Actively involved on campus, she has served as a Student Ambassador, BRIDGE Scholars leader, choir member, and co-founder of Drexel’s NOMAS chapter. She’s passionate about connecting with others, sharing knowledge, and mentoring younger students exploring design. Inspired by both mentors and peers, Tazianna aims to amplify student voices and strengthen student engagement with PhilaNOMA.

    Illyana Bass is an architectural designer with over six years of experience in healthcare design, known for her strengths in research, visualization, and thoughtful design solutions. A Drexel University graduate with Pennoni Honors, she works at Stantec Architecture in Philadelphia while pursuing licensure. Illyana co-leads Women at Stantec and founded the DEI Committee for Professional Women in Construction Philadelphia. She is also an ACE Mentor. Passionate about community and art, Illyana uses architecture to enhance the social and behavioral healthcare experience through sustainable, people-centered design.

    Kenneth Johnson is an experienced architect with a background in residential, commercial, and non-profit projects across Pennsylvania, as well as project management roles in Chicago and New York. He has led teams on real estate developments ranging from $20,000 to $20 million. As a consultant, he advises architects, developers, and contractors, helping secure multimillion-dollar contracts by guiding them through RFP and RFQ processes. His expertise spans design, project management, and strategic planning for successful project delivery.

    Alexis Gentry is a talented Project Designer at Core States Group. A proud graduate of Drexel University (B.Arch. 2023), she was inspired to pursue a career in architecture after learning about influencing someone’s daily life through space and being around design centered family members. As a designer, she’s enjoyed navigating projects across residential, commercial, and retail sectors and collaborating with different design professionals across the industry. As her role as a designer and Programming Chair has evolved, she’s had the opportunity to co-lead a women’s group, emerging professionals committee, and hosted a multitude of events, including women’s empowerment lunches, office mini-gold, back-to- school supply drives, professional development workshops, and thought-provoking panel discussions. Alexis has a passion for serving the community, empowering, and supporting any professional in the growth of their design career. Outside of working hard, she enjoys traveling, photography, and spending time with family and friends.
